Public Policy Advisory Board (PPAB)

The mission of the Public Policy Advisory Board is to employ law, advocacy and public policy as tools to improve the quality of life for the children of greater Houston and Texas. The Public Policy Advisory Board at CHILDREN AT RISK is comprised of service providers and advocates in the community with expertise in our focus areas.  This committee’s purpose is to:

  • Guide and prioritize the advocacy, policy, and legislative efforts of CHILDREN AT RISK’s Public Policy and Law Center;
  • Identify service areas or policies affecting children which need support, improvement, or change;
  • Identify innovative collaborative means to improve children’s services; and
  • Collect and share current information on the status of children, policies and services related to children.
