Special Events Manager
Claire has a degree in Business Management from Texas A&M University, accompanied with a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Mays Business School. After mentoring students from under-served communities for the last seven years, Claire is passionate about changing opportunities for children that need it most. Prior to joining Children at Risk, Claire was on the Development team at Generation One, advocating for early childhood education in Houston’s 3rd Ward community. Through this experience, Claire came to understand the importance of research that supports critical policy reform on behalf of children across Texas.
Which teacher had the biggest impact on you? Why?
My high school choir director because it was so evident that he cared so much more about our value as individuals, rather than just as his students.
What was your favorite book as a child?
My mom read the Boxcar Children Collection to us growing up, and reading about their adventures at night before bed are some of my favorite childhood memories.
What is your dream for Texas children?
My dream for Texas children is that they would know how incredibly valuable they are because of the opportunities they are given to succeed.
