Growing Up in North Texas 2016: A Community Assessment for Tarrant County surfaces the top issues facing local youth from birth to 18 and recommends key solutions. It identifies family economic stability, literacy rates at third grade, infant mortality and child maltreatment as primary areas to focus attention.

In addition to providing a demographic profile of local children, the inaugural report provides extensive statistical data on four community indicators: Economic Well-Being, Education, Health and Safety. Each section includes information on proven solutions to help guide resource investments, and features insights from a variety of local experts, such as Fort Worth ISD school board president, Jacinto Ramos, Jr.

The report provides data for Tarrant County, along with comparative data for five other metropolitan areas, including Dallas County. It was produced by the North Texas Community Foundation in partnership with CHILDREN AT RISK and Child Care Associates.
