Which teacher had the biggest impact on you? Why?
Mr. Garrett, my high school English/Literature teacher. He was a true intellectual, was very passionate about his work, and he cared immensely about his students. He treated us more like college students than high school students. He also really encouraged us to think outside the box and introduced me to one of my favorite books, White Noise by Don DeLillo.
What was your favorite book as a child?
Where the Red Fern Grows
What is your dream for Texas children?
That all children have the opportunity to truly experience childhood without the worry of access to their next meal, educational inequities, and exploitation.
