Michaela Bernacchio joined the CHILDREN AT RISK team in 2012 as the ASSISTANT DIRECTOR in the North Texas office. Michaela will play a role establishing the North Texas office, leading the public policy agenda, communications efforts and summer internship program. Before joining CHILDREN AT RISK, Michaela worked in public relations at The Richards Group, developing marketing and communications strategies for their nonprofit clients. She also spent significant time working in the political arena, for Houston City Council Member Melissa Noriega and for State Senator John Whitmire during the eighty-second legislative session as the clerk for the Senate Committee on Criminal Justice. Michaela graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in ART HISTORY before moving to Texas in 2008.
