Over the past 6 years, CHILDREN AT RISK has been on the front lines in regards to advocating for victims of child trafficking. Much of our time and energy has been spent on examining current policy and drafting new legislation to protect victims and prosecute traffickers. In 2010, Shared Hope International released a report card grading each state’s human trafficking legislation based upon 6 different criteria. Texas scored the highest grade out of any state by receiving an 83.5. CHILDREN AT RISK is very proud of the accomplishments it has achieved with the help of many partners throughout the state. At the same time, there is still much work to be done to ensure that no child in the state of Texas ever has to suffer the abuse of modern day slavery.
