The 9th Annual Human Trafficking Summit offers a unique and in-depth look at how domestic minor sex trafficking occurs, and how every Texan can act to stop it.
Trafficking is a multi-billion dollar global problem. Attendees will learn the basics of trafficking in the courtroom, why legalizing prostitution always results in more harm, and how diversion and new investigation tactics can begin to eliminate trafficking in Texas. Harris County is at the forefront in the United States of these new approaches to catching traffickers and reducing the sexual exploitation of juveniles and adult sex workers. Summit speakers will explore these exciting new solutions and provide real case examples.
Summit presenters include Congressman Ted Poe as keynote speaker, Johnna Stallings, Deputy Chief of Sex Crimes at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Carla Manuel, Director of HT Intelligence, representatives from local law enforcement task forces and many others.
