Attendees will gain rare\, firsthand insight into what today’s education data reveals about student achievement\, school performance\, and the critical supports children need from their earliest years through graduation and beyond. \nWe are honored to be joined by Honorary Chair Ric Campo\, Chairman and CEO of Camden Property Trust and Chair of the Houston ISD Board of Managers. Few leaders better embody the bridge between Houston’s business community and its public schools\, and his leadership of this event reflects the deep civic commitment our city brings to its children. \nThis year’s luncheon brings together the leaders shaping the future of Texas education and comes at an exciting time ahead of the release of C@R’s 2025–2026 Texas School Rankings\, marking 22 consecutive years of ranking Texas public schools. For more than two decades\, our rankings have served as the state’s most trusted independent measure of school performance\, recognizing campuses going above and beyond for students and helping millions of families\, educators\, policymakers\, and community leaders better understand student achievement across Texas. Our rigorous rankings have served as the state’s most trusted independent measure of school performance\, recognizing campuses going above and beyond for students and helping millions of families\, educators\, policymakers\, and community leaders better understand student achievement across Texas. \nWe hope you will join us as a Sponsor at our ACCOLADES Luncheon and celebrate those who are creating brighter futures for children across our state. \n\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Reserve Your Table\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Honorary Chair Ric Campo\n				For more than 40 years\, Ric Campo has leveraged his energy\, experience\, and advocacy to build a better Houston. As the chairman and co-founder of Camden Property Trust\, Ric built a business supplying homes to more than 100\,000 families across America and created jobs for more than 1\,700 team members. \nRic’s journey is based on a strong work ethic\, continuous learning\, and community involvement. Ric has served on numerous public and private boards in service to families\, children\, reducing homelessness\, and promoting our city. He has led transformative economic development initiatives and played a pivotal role in building iconic sports venues and other civic buildings and gathering spaces in Houston. \nWhile chair of Houston First Corporation\, the team successfully executed civic investments of over $1.5 billion in Houston’s convention and entertainment districts assets. Projects include Discovery Green\, the reimagining of the George R. Brown Convention Center\, Avenida de Las Americas Plaza\, Partnership Tower\, and the 1\,000-room Marriott Marquis Hotel. \nAs a board member of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank Houston branch\, Central Houston and the Greater Houston Partnership\, Ric works to shape our region’s economic stability and growth. Through his active participation\, he helps foster an environment conducive to job creation\, investment\, equality\, and overall economic prosperity. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Featuring a 1:1 Conversation with Dr. Bob Sanborn & Special Guest\n				Appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott\, Mike Morath took office as Commissioner of Education in January 2016 and was unanimously confirmed by the Texas Senate (85th Legislature) in March 2017. As Commissioner\, he heads the Texas Education Agency\, which oversees pre-kindergarten through high school education for more than 5.5 million public school students enrolled in both traditional independent school districts and public charter schools. \nPrior to becoming the state’s Education Commissioner\, Morath served on the Dallas Independent School District board of trustees for more than four years. During that time\, he focused on academic improvements. And by his final year on the board\, DISD had seen improvement in various areas including a rise in kindergarten readiness\, math proficiency and graduation rates. \nA strong advocate of public education\, Commissioner Morath graduated from Garland High School in the Garland Independent School District. And thanks to the great public school education he received in Texas\, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree\, summa cum laude\, from George Washington University in two-and-a-half years. \nWhile starting his first company\, Commissioner Morath was asked to teach an advanced computer science class at his high school alma mater after the previous teacher resigned suddenly. He taught through the school year until a permanent teacher was hired and remains amazed at how difficult it is to teach and how important preparation and training is to the profession. \nWith a belief system that continually calls him to serve others\, Commissioner Morath has participated in numerous volunteer activities\, including church Missions Team\, schools and juvenile justice facilities and serving as a mentor for the Big Brother program. While in Dallas\, he helped organize a trip to orphanages in southern India to set up clean running water systems\, and volunteered at an eye clinic in rural Mexico\, where he met another volunteer\, a doctor donating her time and talents to the clinic\, who is now his wife.
