About Charanya

Charanya Ravikumar holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from U.T. Austin. She started her career as a Systems Engineer at Dell in Austin, TX. During that time, Charanya volunteered with several non-profits and planned community service projects for Dell employees through employee resource groups. She was a long-time volunteer with Asha for Education and has planned and executed key fundraising initiatives for the organization, as well as managed project partnerships in India. 

After several years as an engineer, Charanya decided to switch career paths and obtained a Nonprofit Management certification from Duke University. She joined the Development team of CHILDREN AT RISK in 2016 and currently serves as the Director of Development at the organization, primarily overseeing foundation and corporate giving, along with managing a portfolio of individual giving donors and event sponsorships. Charanya has always been passionate about children’s causes, but especially more now as a mother of two young children. She is committed to improving equity and justice for Texas children and making Texas a great place for all children to grow up in. 

In addition to her work at CHILDREN AT RISK, Charanya also conducts empowerment workshops for children and youth through the nonprofit Nobility in Action, is a fundraising volunteer with the nonprofit Go Laadli that is committed to creating a global movement of young women problem solvers, changemaker and leaders, and co-teaches nonprofit management courses on leadership and resource development at the University of Houston-Downtown.
