About Tamar

Tamar is a Program Coordinator for the Center for Social Measurement and Evaluation at Children at Risk. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018. During her tenure at UT, Tamar pursued numerous policy and research internships in Texas, including at the League of Women Voters and Texas House of Representatives. She also completed an honor’s thesis on the nature of and motivation behind political apologies in international politics. As a native Houstonian and committed social justice advocate, Tamar decided to return to Houston after graduating to serve her local community.

Prior to joining Children at Risk, Tamar served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Alliance, working on Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts. She looks forward to continuing work to better the lives of Texans and especially Texas children.
