After a year of repose, the 3rd annual Rock for Houston’s Youth Concert was held at Tribeca Patio, a local neighborhood venue with a beautiful outdoor patio.  The weather could not have been better for live music, food on the patio and games on the lawn.  The morning was filled with young performers like Disfrutulo!, 2nd Story Under, and the acoustic styling’s of Kaelen.  This year’s event had a new and unique family friendly atmosphere.

In the evening, Trucker’s Choice had the crowd dancing and Joe Rowe played an intimate acoustic set for VIPs.  Other Featured bands included Casella, Two Star Symphony, Over9000!, Wide Open Throttle, and Alyson Chayns.  One of the night’s best surprises was the Shadows In Motion Crew.  This group of 10th grade students from Lee High School and Sharpstown High School performed amazing break-dancing routines, channeling life’s adversities into positivity and creativity to inspire the crowd.

With over 400 generous attendees, CHILDREN AT RISK was able to raise over $3,000 and educated a new generation of child advocates and their families.  Thank you to all of our supporters, especially My City Rocks and Jamba Juice, and the hard work of Trea Drake, the mastermind behind Rock for Houston’s Youth.
