It’s a highly credible, trustworthy organization that creates connections and coalitions to advance child well-being.
What has been your favorite memory with C@R?
I have many:
- Setting up the Journals
- Maintaining the role of the Institute
- Participating in conferences and briefings
- Launching parent training project (Triple P) and hiring Nancy, Director of CPFWB
What are your community activities or hobbies, Dr. Giardino?
I serve on a lot of Boards.
What C@R issue area are you most passionate about and why?
I am most passionate about promoting parent training at a community level.
What has been your greatest accomplishment in your work or life as it relates to children?
In my opinion it has been publishing nearly 20 books on child maltreatment and professional training that promote best practices in the evaluation and care of children affected by child maltreatment.

What is one reason someone should give their time, effort, and support to CHILDREN AT RISK?
The organization is all about being effective in promoting child well-being, so we focus on evidence-based practices, the data and doing what we “know” will help.
