Texas’s economic success hinges on a stable workforce, with employers and working parents relying heavily on access to quality child care. However, Texans face significant challenges in meeting the needs of working families.
KEY FACTS
There are currently 778 subsidy Child Care Deserts for low-income working families compared 420 for all families.
Currently, only 17% of eligible low-income families have access to subsidized child care due to funding shortages.
Approximately 90,000 children of working parents remain on the subsidy waiting list.
