Adolescence is a time of great change. Expanding social networks, increased independence and physical changes all lay the groundwork for youth to transition into adulthood. As exciting as this period may be, it is also often marked by risk-taking and poor sexual health practices. This briefing will address the state of adolescent health and the importance of federal investments that provide teens with the tools to safely navigate adolescence and prepare for a healthy adulthood.
