Recap: The 11th Annual CHILDREN AT RISK Golf Classic hosted by Melissa Wilson of FOX 26

On Monday, May 9^th the 11^th Annual CHILDREN AT RISK Golf Classic hosted by Melissa Wilson of FOX 26 took place at the Tournament Course of the Woodlands Country Club, one of the most prestigious courses in Houston.  The day began with a delicious lunch generously provided by local Houston restaurant Joyce’s Seafood & Steaks. This event was a fantastic day of golf with CHILDREN AT RISK supporters and fellow child advocates.  This year we incorporated a Silent Auction that included weekend stays at various Houston hotels and dinners for two at local favorite hot spots. As always, there was a surprise or activity at almost every hole on course in which golfers had the opportunity to win fabulous prizes including a chance to win a 2011 Toyota Prius!  Melissa Wilson never disappoints with her on-course surprises that included massages from the Houston School of Massage to fine wine tastings!  The hole surprises alone are worth the trip to the Woodlands!  Golfers stuck around for a delicious Texas BBQ dinner buffet prepared by the Woodlands Country Club, an awards presentation given by tournament Honoree’s Judge Ed and Gwenn Emmett and an exclusive Live Auction.  The auction packages included many wonderful opportunities, such as remarkable golf packages and several different vacation getaways.  We’d like to thank our tournament co-chairs Mrs. Philamena Baird and Mr. Toby Hynes, and tournament host Melissa Wilson for making a hole-in-one for CHILDREN AT RISK!
