Hunt Alternatives Fund, a two-generation family foundation headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial director for its new Demand Abolition program. The director will design and implement an ambitious society-changing national campaign to eliminate the demand for prostituted sex in the United States.
The Organization
Hunt Alternatives Fund includes an operating foundation and a private grant making foundation that advance innovative and inclusive approaches to social change at local, national, and global levels. In addition to combating the demand for modern-day slavery, the Fund supports leaders of diverse American social movements, advocates for full inclusion of all stakeholders in peace and security processes around the world, inspires women to political leadership, strengthens youth arts organizations in Eastern Massachusetts, and encourages an increase in women’s philanthropy.
Position Overview
Demand Abolition is supporting the movement to end modern-day slavery by developing the infrastructure for a multi-stakeholder, multi-year national campaign to eliminate the demand (rather than supply or distribution) for prostituted sex in the US. We convene key stakeholders from disparate fields, conduct and disseminate research, and educate policymakers to catalyze systemic social change. This is an opportunity for a bold, skilled, tactical professional to play a leading role in transforming our society into one where buying and exploiting human beings is unacceptable.
The director will operate under the broad strategic guidance of Hunt Alternatives Fund Chair Swanee Hunt and work in close collaboration with a committee of the board of directors, senior staff leadership and a talented, passionate internal team. S/he will envision, lead, and represent Demand Abolition, and be responsible for creating and implementing a detailed strategic plan to achieve program goals through partnerships, fundraising and communications.
