Join CHILDREN AT RISK for a meaningful Learning Tour to Lima, Peru, from February 18–23, 2025. This trip offers a unique opportunity to experience Lima’s rich culture, history, and, importantly, to learn more about some of the key issues we focus on at CHILDREN AT RISK.
What to Expect:
- Accommodations: Five-star Hilton Lima Miraflores with views of the city, or similarly luxurious accommodations.
- Local Insights: Visits to non-profits, clinics, and child care centers to learn how Lima is tackling education and health challenges.
- Cultural Highlights: Guided tours of historic landmarks like the Plaza de Armas and a chance to sample world-class cuisine.
The estimated cost is $2,500 for single occupancy (solo traveler) or $2,250 per person for double occupancy (two travelers sharing a room). We’re putting together a thoughtful itinerary for our upcoming learning tour, featuring opportunities to connect with local communities, visit impactful organizations, and explore the region’s culture. Early arrivals will have the option to join a small group gourmet food tour in Miraflores.
Wednesday, February 19
Morning
- Group breakfast with a guest speaker introducing Lima.
Afternoon visits to
- Villa Infantil Jesus Milagroso (nonprofit for children with disabilities)
- Casa Hogar Luz (shelter and educational support for at-risk children)
Evening Excursions
- Walking tour of Miraflores, including Kennedy Park and a chocolate-making class.
- Group dinner at Tanta.

Group breakfast ft. an expert speaker.
Day
- Historical Lima tour and street food experiences.
- Possible Visits
- Socios en Salud (health initiatives for underprivileged children).
- Niños del Rio (education and counseling for street children).
- Evening
- Sunset at Parque de la Exposición and the Magic Water Circuit.
Friday, February 21
Visit Huaca Pucllana pyramids and Inka Markets.
Visits to:
- Aldea Infantiles (family-based care for orphaned children).
- Cuna Más (child development program for children under 36 months).
Evening
Private group dinner at Casa Aliaga.
Saturday, February 22
Morning: Breakfast and boat tour of Ballestas Islands (marine wildlife).
Afternoon/Evening:
