CHILDREN AT RISK is excited to welcome Kim Kofron as our new Director of Early Childhood Education!
“We are very excited to have Kim join our team, because of her vast experience in Early Childhood Education,” said Dr. Bob Sanborn, president and CEO of CHILDREN AT RISK. “Kim’s expertise and knowledge will bode well as we help to build quality early childhood systems in Texas.”
Prior to joining CHILDREN AT RISK, Kofron served as the executive director for the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children, from 2014-2021. She served on former Texas Governor Perry’s Commission on Licensing Standards, and currently serves on Governor Abbott’s Texas Early Learning Council.
Kofron’s formative years were spent in Illinois. A proud alumnus of The Fighting Illini, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development. She received a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education, from the University of Texas.
“Joining the CHILDREN AT RISK team will afford me the opportunity to focus on supporting early childhood educators and providers across Texas, through research, collaboration, and public policy,” said Kofron.
