Sleep is essential to health and well-being at every stage of life, but getting adequate sleep is especially crucial for children. As children grow, learn, and develop for long-term success, quality sleep is indispensable
Quality sleep is essential to a child’s long-term health and development. Despite sleep’s importance, getting the recommended amount and quality of sleep is a challenge for most families. Nearly, 35% percent of US children received less sleep than recommended for their age group. The barriers to a good night’s sleep are especially difficult for children growing up in poverty.
In partnership with Mattress Firm, CHILDREN AT RISK is working to explore the root causes of childhood sleep insecurity, identify high-risk areas and populations in Texas, and develop potential solutions.
